Unfortunately I do not know myself.
Maybe some can. Here in the US that movie was only on the cable networks and not the motion pictures. I am not sure if this is the case where you are at as well. Not sure why it is not in motion pictures. I am not all that familiar of what goes into making something for the theaters versus it being played on the cable networks only. I wonder if it was the nature of the movie or if adverstising was an issue.. who knows.

Here sadly it´s not the case. I don´t know if they ever would let it play in the cinemas here in germany. Meaby it comes out on DVD someday. I hope so at least. I could imagine that it´s because of the material. Because it is so heavy this movie.

I would definitely think its the material. I have to admit, I never watched it on cable. Although I like the work that Aaron does, this would be a little much for me to watch. I read the reviews about it but sometimes reviews can't touch everything.
I am really not ready to see it truthfully. But when you do please let me know. It would help to read some viewers comments about instead of the actually review experts.
He does seem a bit uncomfortable discussing it especially when on the late night shows here. And it makes me wonder deep down that true reason on why he did it. But he seems like a really really nice fellow and I am sure those reasons were the upmost sincere

Oh and I should clarify what I meant by true reasons why he did it.. because that sounds alittle weird ha ha..
I was meaning if he took the role just to get work at the time. I mean although he is known in the acting world, sometimes things are hard for them. or he could simply liked the script.

If i ever get to see it i will let you know. Meaby he didn´t realy think about the consequenses when he took the role. Meaby he thought that the role is a challange and he had to do it! if you know what i mean!? I don´t think that money was the reason. I mean he could get more money out of other movies like the Dark Knight or someting like that.

In Thailand no have many DVD of Aaron, sometime I load his movie from internet, but I "want" to buy his movie at all if I can find I always envy people in America, thay can look his movie easy more. but it's OK I think not good to look his work for free, If thay can sell more DVD Aaron will have more work too. You are his fan, Don't talk really hard I love you all, and I really happy to talk with everybody in here.

Wow I am in the US and it so amazing how lovely technology is to be communicating with others outside of where I am, you know.
I have not seen towelhead as of yet. I have read alot of reviews about it and particularly the content surrounding the sex scenes and honestly, although I know that AE is a wonderful wonderful actor, this would be the one reason why I would not see it here in the US.
There really has not been much talk about the movie here like one would in a movie like Burn after reading when it came out that was amongst friends. Sad to say, but you would have to be a AE fan to even know that it was out. I think it went straight from screening to maybe HBO here for a few weeks (if it did that) and then directly to DVD. I would presume it had something to do with the subject content.
I hope he is as fine a gentlemen that I see on talk shows as he is in public.

Yes I am too. If no have internet I don't know where I talk about him, In Thailand not have many fan. In talk show AE look nervous about sex scenes in this movie, he serious how he touch her... That's why he look nice man XD haha I think he is gentleman but he is a man, not the angle. I like him very much because he's look like one people who love his work, He is nice man and good habit. If he have some bad habit, I think I don't care, Himself and his work make me happy everyday, That's really important I would like to be his fan forever. PS. I say he is a man, but sometime he look like angle for me XD very cute~

Yes Wadoiji that is something that I have noticed that he does get a little uneasy talking about sex scenes. Its funny because it only shows that although he has been in the game for a while he still gets shy about some things such as that.
I have also noticed that as he continued to do interviews about towelhead, he seemed to get more serious when talking about the movie and almost a bit annoyed at some of the questions that come at him. I guess it is part of the job and pretty soon he will not have to talk about that as much anymore.
But I could have definitely seen him as the new James Bond instead of Daniel Craig. Nothing against Craig. I like AE in those politician roles because he plays those soooooooooo well. He has the look for it. And too maybe that could be a bad thing because as an actor you don't want to be pigeon holed into playing just one particular role. But AE is very good at playing different roles.

And it makes me wonder deep down that true reason on why he did it. But he seems like a really really nice fellow and I am sure those reasons were the upmost sincere I´m pretty sure he really took the role because of the challenge as Juventina here has already mentioned. For an actor this role is a very difficult one, a total mental challenge. It´s a really controversial role and probably he needed to take this challenge, to prove himself even more as an actor, both - to himself and to the audience. I really love what he has said about making this movie, how he has emphasized his professional and serious attitude towards working with Summer Bishil by explaining her their professional relationship and talking through their intimate contact. Unfortunately I still have not seen the movie myself, but I intend to fix this little problem very soon to see how Aaron has handled all this and I´m sure he makes a mindblowing role. Has anyone else had the chance to see it already?

Hi Aaronized
Welcome. I don't get on here as much. I like the work of this actor but not as much as a movie goer as most.
I think that it is good any actor or actress to take on new and challenging roles. It only makes them better. But I always wonder at which point would an actor say "no I'm not going to do that" because there are some that do that. But again not every actor can do that or they would not get roles right! :0)
I buckled down to watch the movie. I didn't want to because of the nature of this film. To be honest I laughed during most of it because I thought it was SO funny. I think every young girl could relate to the Summer playing this little girl. I certainly did except for that one scene in there! (I won't blow it for anyone).
I will tell you this.. it was VERY HARD to watch the intimate scene! Extremely hard. It was so sickening. I had to pause it and leave the room and gather myself a bit.
Now in Aaron's defense he played this part so well that a person down the street would smack him for that and not disassociate him from the actual character. KUDOS to him on that.
But oh my gosh, me personally I don't think I could have done it but I'm not the actor right.
In all, it is a good movie. I think the nature of this film is what made it bombed. I think the world is not ready to see reality such as this on film or TV. It's the no no of film. But I suspect that Alan Ball has beaten the world to the curve and more films will come out such as this. Sad but I feel more is yet to be seen.
